Today I joined DeviantART.com

Today I joined DeviantART.com, It is a artist site and seems pretty cool. I haven't figured it all out yet but it looks good. Check me out!

I have returned to Yahoo Groups. There are several sculpting groups there. I am going through them to see if there is still much activity. I haven't had a look over there for years.

I am adding a couple more photo's of my sculpts today. The "Goth girl" is my first attempt at using a live model (sort of). I met this girl at "Chiller Theater".Chiller Theater is a convention held in New Jersey twice a year and is alot of fun. Anyway I was walking around just snapping pictures and I ask this girl if she would pose for me and she did. I took about 4 pictures right there on the convention floor. Took them home and this is what I came up with. I really should finish it someday.

Let's see some sculptures!

I suppose if I am going to talk about my sculptures I should show a few. These are a couple of early sculptures. They were sculpted in the colored sculpy and are Xmas tree ornaments.

Today I searched

Today I searched Blogger and Facebook for sculptors. I am hoping to find a mentor. I know I probably don't "need" one but I feel like I don't know how to properly learn about sculpting. It has been along time since I was in school and even then I really wasn't that good at it. So I'm not sure I know how the process works. I probably don't need to know, I could probably just do it and learn as I go. Then again I find myself choked off by my own inability and my own belief in myself. I start projects that are either way above my current knowledge and talent or more likely I try to sculpt thinks out of my head. I am not a good drawer and am unable to put my ideas on paper. This seems to be the method most used. I am never sure how to proceed, so I do nothing. You see the problem. paralysed by fear and trying to go in too many directions at once I accomplish nothing.

The first post

The first post is always the hardest and usually the most unimportant. This post will be no different. I intend to share some of my sculptures and hope to find others who like me are interested in learning more about this fun form of art.
