Some good news..........

Well I was out with the Fam, and we went to the Rite Aid store. These stores are closing and everything is on sale. Not to pass up a chance to profit from others bad fortune we shopped. I bought a new leather office chair at 25% off. When I got home I found it was pretty much crap. Too small for my large rear to fit in nicely and much lighter weight. I mesured the old chair and sure enough the new bottom fit the old chair seat and BANG, I got my old chair back! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.

I also shopped at the "Going out of business" CompUSA store. I bought some crap but nothing too exciting. I did see some drawing tablets that I might go back and have a look at. I was really hoping for a new track ball. My old one is damaged and just limping along.

That's all for today.

New PC not so great

The new PC isn't working out so great. It would be OK if you were using it just for web and such but I have been scanning all my old photo's to archive them and the new PC just chokes when you get too many files in a folder. So although I am critical of it it wasn't designed to do that kind of thing so I guess I would have to let it slide. A piece of advice though, if you plan on getting one of these find someone who knows Linux to give you a little help.

I haven't had my hands in the clay for a while. Every time I have a failure like I did with the Orc I tend to stay away for a while. I have been thinking though that I should try some busts. You know just keep it simple for a while. I'll let you know how it goes.

PC problems continue.

Well the old PC has pissed me off enough that I have replaced it. Well sorta, I bought one of those "green PC's" I had been hearing about. It doesn't run on windows but uses something called "G os". It is actually a version of Linux. It was only USD250 tax and all. I picked it up and it has been doing pretty well. I am glad though that my nephew is Mr. Smartie Pants when it comes to Linux. I did call him to work out a little problem. The office chair finally gave up and dumped me on the floor. I am using a big ol chair that should be in the corner of a formal living room. It's big and clunky but will have to do until I can save up some money for a new one.

I started a new sculpture of an Orc, Didn't get far. Armature and initial bulk up. I decided to cook it at this stage to see if it would give me something to push against. Well after I got it out I noticed that the pose is wrong and now I'm kinda stuck after cooking it. Oh well back to the drawing board.

I am now hopelessly addicted to diviantart.com. You can see my stuff over there. My user name is Papabrvo.

That's it for now........
